Nearly 90% of all infertility cases, both male and female factor, are overcome through treatment, including surgical and medical techniques. The physicians at Sure Fertility are committed to developing a treatment plan specific to each patient's needs that will lead to the desired result of conceiving a child. We treat the patient as a partner in treatment and work with them to determine the treatment option that will be most fitting for their situation based on financial, social, religious, ethical and medical factors. Treatment options include assisted reproductive techniques such as IVF and ICSI, ovulation induction to enhance the production of eggs, surgery to repair reproductive organs and intrauterine insemination to increase the chances for egg fertilization by the sperm.
Selecting an infertility Specialist
A variety of doctors might treat infertility, for example gynaecologists, reproductive endocrinologists, urologists and andrologists but couples are increasingly consulting an infertility specialist who deals with allof these areas simultaneously.
The first visit should include both partners and will probably include a complete medical history of both. The biology of conception, the possible causes of infertility and a plan to determine a diagnosis are all discussed. The next step should be to establish an accurate diagnosis.
Infertility Evaluation
Infertility is a shared concern, wherever the problem may reside. Limiting the evaluation to one member of a couple can waste a lot of valuable time.
To understand why pregnancy doesn’t happen, a couple and their doctor will try to answer four important questions:
Is there a problem with ovulation? Is there a sperm problem? Can the egg and sperm unite? Can implantation occur and be maintained? The process used to identify fertility problems is referred to as the infertility work- up.
Scheduling of tests may vary with the individual situation, but the general rule is to proceed from the simple, less invasive tests to those that are more involved.
Treatments Available
The Sure Fertility centre is well equipped to provide a comprehensive range of fertility treatments. The treatment programme to be selected will depend upon the needs and preferences of each individual couple, and could consist of one or a combination of the following treatment options:
- Ovulation induction and cycle monitoring
- Intra-Uterine Insemination (IUI), including donor insemination
- In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
- Vitrification (oocyte banking,Semen freezing)
- Surgical sperm retrieval (TESA,MESA,PESA)
- Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
- Assisted hatching
- Blastocyst transfer
- Pre-Implantation Genetic Aneuploidy Screening (PGAS)
- Embryo freezing and replacement of frozen embryos
- Hysteroscopy and laporoscopic surgery
- Egg (ovum) donation
- Surrogacy
- Tubal evaluation HSG (digital) HYCOSY( using ultrasound)
- Complete evaluation of male partner including dopplers, urological procedures, varicocoel treatment etc

Technologies We Use
Details
 |
Incubators
Our laboratories are the most modern in the world. That's where we developed the mini-incubators that have revolutionized pregnancy rates. These incubators simulate the natural environment of human fallopian tubes by using low oxygen levels. They also feature just the right amount of carbon dioxide needed to help embryos grow.
|
 |
Culture medium
Inside these incubators, embryos are grown in a type of fluid called a culture medium. The quality of this culture medium is crucial to the success of an IVF cycle. That's why we developed our own special culture medium - which is now exported to over 45 countries.

 |
Blastocyst Culture
We also have world-leading success with Day 5 blastocyst transfer, a technique that allows embryos to grow a little longer before being transferred back to the mother, letting us better determine which embryos have the most developmental potential.
|
 |
Pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD)
We're one of the few centers in Australia with facilities to perform pre-implantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) successfully. PGD allows us to choose which embryos will be transferred to the uterus based on the results of genetic tests, excluding those with an obvious genetic abnormality. The testing can increase both the chance of a genetically normal pregnancy and your chance of having a baby.

Embryo Vitrification
Sydney IVF are world leaders in this exciting new technology that has dramatically increased survival rates for thawed embryos.
